Unsure which treatment is most suitable for targeting your fat pockets? Be smart and educate yourself on the difference between Mesotherapy and Liposuction. You might find getting rid of those problem areas is easier than you thought!
Dr. Wright’s tips
Mesotherapy is a non-invasive treatment involving several injections, which focuses on breaking down the fat in the targeted area. Liposuction is a surgical procedure where the doctor inserts a rod into the area to pull out the fat. Liposuction removes the actual fat cells, while mesotherapy removes fat from the cell. Traditional liposuction has at least two weeks of downtime; several days for laser liposuction; and mesotherapy does not have any down time. After liposuction you must wear restrictive garments for weeks. Mesotherapy is quite the opposite, loose clothing is encouraged! If you gain weight back after liposuction it reoccurs in abnormal places. With mesotherapy, if weight is gained, it comes back where it was lost. Liposuction has a very long recovery period. It involves significant pain, bruising, may cause scarring and divots, and can take up to 3 months to see results. Liposuction can also cause loose and weak skin. Mesotherapy does not involve a long recovery period and it actually can tighten and strengthen the skin. There is minimal bruising and you can see results in weeks. I recommend doing your research, often times there is more than one solution to your problem!
