What you are wearing does not have as much to do with your lipstick color as does your skin type and tone. All too often, women have the tendency to try and match their eyeshadow or lipstick with the colors in their clothing. It is much better to choose the most flattering shade for your skin color instead. Don’t feel bad if you’re not sure where to start, it CAN be confusing!
Dr. Wright’s Tip
I would like to share my “tricks of the trade” of how I achieve my favorite lipstick looks. First, by applying foundation before lip liner and lipstick, you will achieve longer, lasting coverage. If you want to make lips appear fuller outline lips just outside natural lip line, with a color that matches your lip color or lipstick color.
If you have a Fair complexion deep plums, reds, berry, wine and reds with a blue undertone look best. Browns as well, from-light medium browns or beige with pink undertones flatters fair skins. Try our PREVIA “FETISH”.
Olive complexions should choose rich, deep brown reds and deep, dark berry shades. Stay away from orange/reds and pink/reds; they can bring out the yellow undertones in your skin. In our PREVIA line we have “ODYSSY” or “VIP”.
Dark complexions should choose according to their skin tone. For lighter skin tones try pale-deep pink, peach, taupe. For medium tones- red, bronze, magenta and for dark tones- deep red, fuchsia, chocolate brown. Try our PREVIA “HIPPIE” or “EAUX”.
