As a child we are blessed with vibrant rosy cheeks. Our young skin is effortlessly luminous and radiant. Unfortunately age catches up with us and we lose that luminosity and our natural skin tone fades leaving our complexion pale and lifeless. To balance the loss of luminosity and a youthful tone we use blush to give our dull skin a healthy glow. However, many women take a heavy approach when applying blush or choose colors that are way too dark.
Dr. Wright’s tip
The idea of blush is to mimic our skin’s natural hue and tone. When you choose a color that is too dark or a formulation of blush that is not ideal for your skin tone, the outcome can be unflattering. Make sure to choose a color that most resembles your natural radiance. If you like more of an impact, apply a highlighter directly over the blush on the cheekbones. For mature skin you want to gear toward blush that is a cream or gel. This will keep the cheeks from appearing dry and flaky and give you a dewy, natural look. Keep the blush on the apples of your cheeks and build color slowly. Swirl your blush brush over the blush cake, then apply it in a circular motion onto the skin, blend up and out towards the hairline. Some of our more popular Previa Cosmetic Blush colors are “Grapenuts” and Daydreams”.
