SKIN CANCER TREATMENTS

COSMETIC DERMATOLOGY AND SKIN CARE FOR Plano, Frisco, and the Dallas Fortworth metroplex in Texas

Actinic Keratosis (AK) are red or skin colored rough, scaly patches found on sun exposed areas such as the face, scalp, arms, and hands. They are related to past sun exposure and develop in fair-skinned people. If left untreated they can increase in size and develop into skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) requiring surgical treatment.

Dr. Wright offers a non-surgical technique using a prescription drug that is combined with two forms of light treatment (blue light laser and IPL – intense pulsed light). It can be applied directly on particular lesions or to an entire area. After an incubation period of 15 to 60 minutes, the area is exposed to either the blue light laser, IPL or a combination of both. Dr. Wright was one of the first doctors to bring this treatment to the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex and offered her expert opinion to the NBC Evening News Health Report.
