Paris, je t’aime – sounds better than – I love Paris. Whether experiencing French sophistication or the beauty of the city – Tim and I are having a fabulous time!! As we wander along les grands boulevards, climb Montmartre hill or sit in a brasserie on the Champs-Élysées, every memory has been extraordinaire. We spent an evening on a dinner cruise enjoying the night lights of Paris, toured the Opera Garnier, had lunch at the top of the Eiffel Tower, and spent an afternoon in the Louvre Museum. Et voilà, our perfect vacation to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary!
One day, we stopped for a moment of reflection, in Notre Dame Cathedral and witnessed a ceremony where priests were being welcomed into the brotherhood. Notre Dame is in the heart of Paris and also of la belle France. A bronze star on the pavement near the west door marks point zero des routes de France, the spot from where all French main road distances are calculated.
Then we crossed the Seine River to the Quartier Latin. Here we found that cafés are places where Parisians come to gossip/argue, to people-watch and to be seen. Cafés are also the perfect place for Tim and I to enjoy a glass of wine with a meat and cheese plate. Once ordered, the waiter will leave us undisturbed for hours!!
Tomorrow we are having a private tour of Versailles Palace, eating lunch at a 17th century watermill and then visiting the home of the famous painter, Claude Monet.
Au revoir and stay tuned!!
