Do you have migraine headaches? Botox has been approved by the FDA to treat chronic migraines.
Dr. Wright’s Tip
First, let’s cover what a migraine is. Migraines are not your typical headache. They are usually an intense, throbbing pain. When a person is suffering from one, they may experience nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. Usually if the person has had one before they can feel one beginning to come on. Interesting fact: Women are nearly 3 times more likely to have migraines than men (do men cause us to have them-think about it!). Although the exact mechanism of how Botox helps against migraines is not known– there have been many safety studies to recommend its FDA use for treatment. It can also be used to prevent migraines.
