Is your Sunscreen causing you Acne Problems? Try using an Oil-Free Sunscreen.

Products used to treat acne can make skin more likely to burn, so wearing a sunscreen is very important.  Unfortunately, finding a sunscreen that suits acne-prone skin can be difficult, as many sunscreens contain pore-clogging ingredients. Certain sunscreens can be heavy, thick & oily, which can cause breakouts.  They also do not allow the skin to breathe and cause clogged pores. When the skin cannot breathe, bacteria builds up under the skin with nowhere to go. When you have clogged pores, the end results are breakouts.

Dr. Wright’s Tip
To prevent breakouts from your sunscreen, you may want to try an oil-free version.  The benefit of using an oil-free sunscreen is that it gives you protection without clogging your pores. Also, some oil-free sunscreens offer oil control to mattify shine throughout the day.

Should you avoid waterproof sun products? Some water resistant products cause problems like clogged pores and induce more breakouts.  A different option could be an oil-free sunscreen spray, like our Solar F/x. It is so lightweight, it is ideal for people on the go. It can be used over and under makeup. With infused aloe, Vitamin C and E, it will also rejuvenate your skin while it protects.
